The CIDESCO World Congress 2017 took place this year in Mumbai India. What a beautiful location for the Congress, India with it’s vibrant colours, ancient history and warm welcome to all, has made this years Congress unforgettable. The Congress began with a welcome reception for all delegates at the Taj Lands End hotel. It was wonderful to meet old friends and make new friends within the CIDESCO family.

All CIDESCO examiners were working hard together to make sure the CIDESCO standard is maintained throughout the world. On Saturday from 9 am to 5pm through the schools meeting all delegates discussed topics such as, case histories, online MCQ’s, changes to how manicure and pedicure will be examined to mention a few areas. As part of our Section you will be given a briefing on all information given at our meeting on Sunday November 12th at our next section meeting which will be held in the Aisling Hotel in Dublin at 12pm. It is customary for all Congresses to host a culture night to showcase their culture and this was a fantastic opportunity for all the world sections to relax, recharge and enjoy their surroundings what an amazing night!

Sunday is always a highlight starting with the General Assembly which is a meeting again from 9am to 5pm all the world sections are represented at this meeting. CIDESCO Section Ireland was represented this year by our president Mary O Donoghue, Vice President Dorothy Lawlor and Board Member for Membership Lorraine Galligan. Broad but in depth discussions took place during the General Assembly you will be given a full brief at our November Section meeting. The Gala Ball as always was full of glamour, beauty and style the Indian way. Such a beautiful evening with lots of Indian culture all delegates dancing and enjoying the evening after all of their hard work for their respective section.

The following days were full of lectures with topics from “Hormones and their influence on pigmentation and ageing of the skin” to “Face and body contouring using RF( Radio Frequency) and HIFU( High intensity focuses ultrasound), a lot was learned from these lectures. During the exhibition we had a stunning opening ceremony, make up competition, closing ceremony and of course a varied and inspiring exhibition. Thank you India for an educational and varied Congress.
